Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

• Account info: name, email address, date of birth (used only to confirm you’re 18+ and never shown publicly), and any profile details you add (bio, hometown, pronouns, social links).
• Photos and content: photos, captions, comments, reactions, and tags you post to Moments.
• Location: we verify your presence at an event using your device’s GPS at the moment of check-in. We do not store your GPS coordinates — only a yes/no confirmation that you were near the event location.
• Check-ins and RSVPs: which events you attend or RSVP to, and when.
• Payments: if an event has a cover charge, payment is processed directly by Stripe. We store the payment amount, status, and Stripe’s transaction reference — never your card number.
• Contacts (optional): if you choose to sync contacts to find friends, we match against your existing connections in the moment; we don’t store your contact list.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the app: authenticate you, show you relevant events, verify check-ins, display Moments to people who were actually there, process payments through Stripe, send notifications, and provide customer support. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers who help us run Present: Stripe (payments), our cloud hosting/database provider, and mapping services (for event location display). These providers are contractually limited to using your data only to provide their service to us.

Your Choices

• Ghost Mode: you can check in without appearing in Who’s Here, Crossed Paths, or notifications visible to others.
• Blocking: blocked users are mutually invisible to each other everywhere in the app.
• Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is processed within 24 hours.

Children’s Privacy

Present is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
